Thanksgiving Food Basket Initiative
Every November, families across the Inland Empire face a quiet reality: the cost of a single Thanksgiving meal — turkey, sides, ingredients for a full table — can be out of reach for households already stretching every dollar. The Thanksgiving Food Basket Initiative assembles complete holiday meal baskets and delivers them through verified community partners. Each basket is funded by supporters, packed by volunteers, and distributed through organizations who know their neighborhoods — because every family deserves a seat at the table.
Every November, thousands of Inland Empire families face a quiet reality: a complete Thanksgiving meal is out of reach. This initiative assembles and delivers full holiday baskets through verified community partners — funded by supporters, packed by volunteers, distributed with dignity.
Every dollar is Foundation-administered and spent through approved vendors. Turkeys, produce, and shelf-stable staples are purchased in bulk, assembled by AOK volunteer teams, and distributed through vetted partner locations — never as cash to individuals.
We document every basket, every partner site, and every vendor payment. Supporters see exactly how their generosity reached Riverside County families through our transparency reporting.

Common questions
What is included in each Thanksgiving basket?
Each basket includes a whole turkey, stuffing mix, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, fresh produce, and shelf-stable pantry staples. Basket contents may vary slightly based on availability and household size, but every basket is designed to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal.
How are families selected to receive baskets?
Families are identified and verified through our community partners — food banks, churches, social services agencies, and community organizations in Riverside County. The Foundation does not accept direct applications from individuals. All recipients are verified through partner intake processes based on documented need and program capacity.
Is assistance guaranteed for every family?
No. This is a charitable initiative, not an entitlement program. Assistance is based on verified need, partner capacity, and available funding. The Foundation exercises full discretion over all allocation decisions.
Where are baskets distributed?
Baskets are distributed at verified partner locations across Riverside County, including sites in Moreno Valley, Riverside, and Perris. Distribution sites are coordinated by the Foundation and staffed by AOK volunteers and partner organization personnel.
Can I volunteer to help pack or distribute baskets?
Yes. Volunteer opportunities are available during basket assembly events and distribution days. Contact us through our contact page to learn about upcoming volunteer dates and locations. All volunteers work under Foundation coordination.
How are donations used?
Every dollar donated to the Thanksgiving Food Basket Initiative is administered by the Foundation with full discretion and used to purchase food and supplies from approved vendors. The Foundation does not distribute cash. Supporters can see allocation and distribution data through our transparency page.
