Acts of Kindness Foundation

A foundation built so kindness can travel farther

Community-centered foundation

We are a California public benefit foundation (nonprofit public benefit corporation) delivering charitable programs across the United States. Acts of Kindness Foundation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We were built for people who want to help and also want to know that help will be handled with care. Across food security, housing stability, education, disaster response, emergency medical support, community health, mental health and wellness, and animal welfare, we steward support under Foundation oversight with verified partners, approved vendors, and documented program pathways where appropriate. We share our programs and reporting publicly so generosity does not disappear into a black box.

What we stand for

The values we return to whenever we decide how help should move.

  • Verified before funded

Every request or program pathway goes through review. We verify need through community organizations, shelters, schools, clinics, housing partners, and other qualified channels before assistance is allocated, because urgency should never replace discernment.

  • Accountable delivery

We use documented delivery pathways designed for accountability. Depending on the program, support may move through verified vendors, service providers, or partner organizations, with reporting that helps supporters understand how resources were used and why each decision was made.

  • Dignity in everything

The people we serve are neighbors, not case numbers. We protect privacy, deliver help without requiring public exposure, and tell impact stories in ways that honor the humanity of everyone involved.

Our mission

Turning compassion into responsible action

We exist to help generosity reach real people in real moments of need through a model that is careful, accountable, and worthy of trust.

We are not here to be a vague feel-good brand or a casual pass-through for charitable dollars. We are here to build a trustworthy nonprofit home for meaningful help across food security, housing stability, education access, disaster response, emergency medical support, community health, mental health and wellness, and animal welfare. Some programs are year-round pillars. Others are seasonal, local, or specialized. What connects them all is one Foundation standard: careful review, accountable administration, appropriate verification, and public-facing reporting that helps supporters understand what their generosity is making possible.

Who we serve

For the people who give, need help, and show up beside us

Whether you are giving, asking for help, or partnering in the work, you deserve clarity, dignity, and a process you can trust.

  • Supporters & donors

Your gift is administered by the Foundation, not passed through to a third party. We pay verified vendors and partners directly and publish how funds were used through our transparency page.

  • Families & individuals

If you need assistance, our intake process connects you with the right program through verified community partners. Every request is reviewed with care and dignity.

  • Community partners

Nonprofits, shelters, schools, clinics, churches, and community organizations work with us to deliver programs locally. We coordinate resources, verify need, and document outcomes together.

Kindness deserves more than good intentions. It deserves structure, follow-through, and the kind of care people can actually trust.

Our story

Who we are

Acts of Kindness Foundation (AOK) was built around a simple belief: kindness should be able to move with both heart and structure. We are a California public benefit foundation (nonprofit public benefit corporation) and an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, created to administer charitable programs with seriousness, care, and public trust.

We chose a multi-program model because real life does not arrive in neat categories. A family may be dealing with hunger, housing pressure, a medical crisis, or the aftermath of a disaster all at once. That is why our work stretches across food security, housing stability, education access, disaster response, emergency medical support, community health, mental health and wellness, and animal welfare.

Our role is to build the structure that helps generosity do real work. That means combining governance, program administration, community outreach, and compliance so support can move through responsible channels, local relationships, and documented pathways. Founded in California, we are growing a public-facing Foundation built to serve communities across the United States with clarity, dignity, and staying power.

How we operate

Foundation-led stewardship across every program

Board-level oversight, documented administration, and published reporting help supporters understand how charitable resources are stewarded across our program portfolio.

  • Programs are designed and administered under Foundation oversight and applicable law, with partner support where appropriate to deliver local impact.
  • Funds may be paid to verified vendors, service providers, and partner organizations based on the structure of each approved program pathway.
  • Requests are reviewed through partner agencies and qualified channels — including shelters, clinics, schools, housing nonprofits, and community organizations — when program criteria require verification before assistance is allocated.
  • We publish program outcomes, fund allocation, and distribution data through our transparency page so supporters can follow where their generosity goes.
  • The Foundation retains full discretion over charitable distributions. Assistance is subject to program capacity and verified need.

What we're building

We are building a future where help can arrive with both speed and integrity - where generosity is matched by stewardship, where donors can clearly see what their support makes possible, and where families and communities can trust the programs created to serve them.

From our leadership

Why we built this Foundation

We started Acts of Kindness because we saw something many people feel but few organizations address well: people want to help, but they also want to know their help is being handled responsibly. Too often generosity is clouded by uncertainty - where funds go, who is accountable, and whether the work is ever clearly documented. So we set out to build something steadier: a Foundation that verifies needs, administers programs with care, works through approved vendors and partners, and shares outcomes with honesty. We are not building a charity around one headline or one moment. We are building a long-term nonprofit platform that can meet real needs with both compassion and discipline.
